Privacy policy
This site is run by Sean Barton, trading as Tortoise IT (barton.sean@gmail.com). This policy covers what happens to your information if you use the contact form on this site.
What's collected. When you submit the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent directly to my email inbox. No account is created, and no marketing list is built from it. The site does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and does not track you across other sites.
What it's used for. Solely to reply to your enquiry. I won't use your details for anything else, and won't pass them to any third party, except where a service provider (such as my email host) processes them purely to deliver the message to me.
How long it's kept. Enquiries are kept in my email inbox for as long as is reasonably useful for our correspondence, and deleted when no longer needed.
Your rights. You can ask what information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, at any time — just email barton.sean@gmail.com.
Terms
Tortoise IT is the trading name used by Sean Barton for software development and consultancy work. Nothing on this site constitutes a formal quote, contract or offer of work — any project, whether for a fixed scope, ongoing contract, or team engagement, is agreed separately and directly with the client before work begins, and is governed by the terms set out in that agreement.
The content of this site — including blog posts and project write-ups — is provided for general information and isn't a substitute for advice specific to your situation. Third-party projects linked from this site (such as Waymarq and Helmr) are governed by their own separate terms.
If anything here needs clarifying before you get in touch about a project, just ask — barton.sean@gmail.com.
